1.The scope
1.1 This Standard specifies the criteria for lightweight, standard weight, heavy weight, and detention hinges. Included are cycle tests, lateral and vertical wear tests, friction tests, strength tests, finish tests, and material and dimensional requirements.
1.2Tests described in this Standard are performed in a laboratory setting. Results can vary due to differences in installation, maintenance, and environmental conditions.
1.3 Refer to NFPA 80-2010 for Fire Doors and Windows for information regarding hinge requirements for fire doors.
Hinges are manufactured in accordance with ANSI/BHMA A156.1
●All hinges have five knuckles, four ball bearings, non-rising pins, and button tips and plugs.
●All hinges are equipped with a template screw hole location that can be used on both wood and hollow metal doors and frames.
●The pins used in hinges that are not made of ferrous metals are made of stainless steel.
●A hole is located in the bottom tip for effortless removal of the pin.
The dimensions and tolerances conform to ANSI-A 156.7.
●Template hinge, full mortise, square corner, heavy duty weight.
●Equipped with SS screws.
