1.1 This Standard includes specifications for different types of door closers, including surface mounted closers, concealed closers in the door, overhead concealed closers, and concealed floor closers. Pivots for floor closers are also included. The criteria for conformance include tests for cycle, operational, closing force, and finish. 1.2 Tests in this Standard are conducted in laboratory conditions with neutral air pressure, at temperatures ranging from 60 to 85 degrees F. However, actual results may differ due to factors such as installation, maintenance, and environmental conditions. Actual closer performance is affected by fluctuating ambient conditions such as wind and pressure differentials, consult factory for recommendations.
